Ash Wednesday begins the 40-day journey of Lent — a season of prayer, fasting, repentance, and renewal as we prepare for Holy Week and the resurrection of our Savior.

• We belong to God — beloved children
• We are sinners — in need of mercy and grace

Jesus warns us in Matthew 6 not to perform righteousness for recognition, but to practice relationship with the Father who sees in secret. Lent is not about earning salvation. It is about renewing relationship.
